Protect Our Herd Green County – COVID-19 Vaccine Campaign

Organizations across the county have recognized the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine in our community’s return to normalcy, and have come together to coordinate this campaign. The campaign will underscore the importance of getting vaccinated, educate on the vaccine, and will highlight some friendly faces from our community who tell their COVID-19 vaccine story. It is important that as many Green County residents as possible get vaccinated so that we can achieve herd immunity. Click here to read through the full campaign press release.

Find a Vaccine Provider

Protect Our Herd Green County Flyer

Post the campaign flyer in common areas to remind others of the importance of getting vaccinated and to let them know how they can find a vaccine provider.

Percentage of Green County Residents Fully Vaccinated

Check back here frequently as we update the syringe “thermometer” showing what percentage of Green County residents are fully vaccinated.

Fully vaccinated means that an individual has completed their COVID-19 vaccine series (received two doses for a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine).

What is “Herd Immunity”?

Herd immunity occurs when enough people become immune to a disease, making it unlikely that disease will spread. This happens through previous infection or vaccination. Since immunity after previous infection does not last for very long after having had COVID-19, and developing COVID-19 can cause serious illness or even death, vaccination is a safer and more effective way to build herd immunity.
